말레이시아 현지에서 대한민국 신앙인의 발걸음이 이어졌다.
이돈희 총재(대한노인신문 대표이사 겸 세계도전재단 총재)는 최근 말레이시아 소재 한인 천주교 성당을 방문해 주일 미사에 참례하고, 현지 교민 신앙 공동체와 뜻깊은 시간을 가졌다.
이날 성당 게시판에는 ‘금주의 주보 소식’과 함께 다양한 신앙 안내와 공지들이 정갈하게 게시되어 있었으며, 교민들의 신앙생활이 체계적으로 운영되고 있음을 보여주었다. 특히 신축된 지 오래되지 않은 성당임에도 불구하고 약 500여 명의 신자들이 함께하는 공동체로 성장해온 점이 눈길을 끌었다.

미사 후에는 담임신부인 이기범 요셉 신부와 만나 환담을 나누며, 해외 한인 성당의 역할과 신앙 공동체의 중요성에 대해 공감대를 형성했다. 별도의 보좌신부나 수녀 없이도 공동체 중심으로 운영되는 모습은 현지 교민들의 자발적인 신앙 참여와 헌신을 보여주는 사례로 평가된다.

이돈희 총재는 “타국에서도 신앙을 중심으로 하나 되는 한인 공동체의 모습에 깊은 감동을 받았다”며 “이러한 신앙과 연대의 힘이야말로 세계 속 대한민국의 또 다른 자산”이라고 밝혔다.
한편, 총재 일행은 말레이시아 일정을 마치고 다음 여정지로 이동할 예정이다.

오늘 11시 교중 미사는, 필리핀 세부  한인 천주교회  주임   신부인 김병환 바오로 신부가  초청되어서
담당신부인 이기범 요셉 신부와  함께 미사를 집전하고, 미사 전후 걸처 고해성사를  주기도 하였다.

The footsteps of Korean believers continued abroad in Malaysia.

Lee Don-hee, Chairman of the World Challenge Foundation and CEO of The Korea Senior Citizens Newspaper, recently visited a Korean Catholic church in Malaysia, where he attended Sunday Mass and shared a meaningful time with the local Korean faith community.

On that day, the church bulletin board displayed the “Weekly Parish News” along with various announcements and guidance for parishioners, reflecting the well-organized structure of the community’s religious life. Notably, although the church building is relatively new, it has grown into a vibrant congregation of approximately 500 members, drawing particular attention.

After the Mass, Chairman Lee met with Fr. Joseph Lee Gi-beom, the parish priest, and engaged in a warm conversation. They shared insights on the role of Korean Catholic churches abroad and the importance of faith-based communities. The parish operates without assistant priests or nuns, relying instead on strong community participation—an example of the voluntary devotion and commitment of Korean parishioners overseas.

Chairman Lee remarked,

“I was deeply moved by the unity of the Korean community centered on faith, even in a foreign land. This spirit of faith and solidarity is truly another valuable asset of Korea on the global stage.”

Meanwhile, Chairman Lee and his delegation are scheduled to continue their journey following their visit to Malaysia.

In addition, the 11 a.m. main Mass was co-celebrated by Fr. Paul Kim Byung-hwan, the parish priest of the Korean Catholic Church in Cebu, Philippines, who was specially invited. Together with Fr. Joseph Lee Gi-beom, he presided over the Mass and also administered the Sacrament of Confession before and after the service.
