World Challenge Foundation 2025 Scholarship Award Ceremony Notice

On October 8th, World Parents' Day, the World Challenge Foundation will award scholarships to two outstanding international students and foreign nationals.

This year's scholarship is 5 million KRW for each recipient. The two recipients are one international student (Italian nationality) and one other foreign national. The Italian national must be a Catholic who is proficient in Korean and simple Hangul sentences. The prize for the Italian recipient is the original Italian book, written line by line by Mother Maria Cecilia Baiz of the Order of St. Peter, containing the revelations and words personally given by Jesus. This book has been translated into Korean and published as [예수님 내면의 삶] (The Inner Life of Jesus, 1030 pages) by Human Culture Arirang Co., Ltd.

Due to tight scheduling, budget constraints, and venue issues, there will be no separate grand ceremony. The award ceremony will be held simply at the Korea Challenge Headquarters office in Yeouido.

The awards will be presented by Chairman Lee Don-hee, President of the Korea Challenge Headquarters / President of the World Challenge Foundation / UN Peace Ambassador, with the attendance of Dr. Cho Young-kwan, Permanent Representative of the Korea Challenge Headquarters / Chairman of the World Challenge Foundation, and Kang Jang-wook, advisor to both foundations.

Meanwhile, the World Challenge Foundation began its activities in the United States by establishing a branch in New Jersey on December 18th of last year.

Dr. Ju Sung-bae, a tenor residing in the U.S. and CEO of the World Challenge Foundation in the U.S., leads the foundation there.

The World Challenge Foundation has been spearheaded by Chairman Lee Don-hee, who is also the president and chief editorial writer of the Daehan Senior Citizens' Newspaper and the creator of Senior Citizens' Day and World Parents' Day. He was also appointed as president of the World Challenge Foundation. Additionally, Dr. Cho Young-kwan, Permanent Representative of the Korea Challenge Headquarters, has taken on the role of chairman of the World Challenge Foundation in the U.S., expanding international activities. With the recent IRS approval, it is expected that the handling of donations and international projects will gain momentum.
